Wedding Peak and Winter Pollution Rules Overlap
Venue listings put Rohtak's banquet demand at its highest from November to February and again in April and May. GRAP is a winter plan.
GRAP stages begin to be invoked across the NCR. Stage II, invoked on 22 October 2022, told hotels, restaurants and open eateries not to allow coal or firewood, tandoors included.
Peak banquet bookings meet the toughest pollution days. In December 2025 Stage IV came into force across Delhi-NCR, and Delhi followed with a blanket ban on coal and firewood tandoors.
Banquets fill again once the winter restrictions are over. This is when a wood-capable oven can earn its flavour premium, where your landlord and the authority allow it.
Plan the live counter to run on gas from November to February and keep wood as a bonus, not the plan. Orders change by GRAP stage and by site. This is information, not legal advice.
How Seriously Is the Fuel Rule Taken Here?
Rohtak is an NCR district
Haryana's Chief Secretary told the Deputy Commissioners of NCR districts, Rohtak included, to enforce GRAP-IV strictly. Rohtak's Deputy Commissioner then set up a pollution control room at the mini-secretariat to take complaints about violations.
A November 2025 survey listed Rohtak among the ten most-polluted cities that month.
What the rule says for a kitchen
Under GRAP, coal and firewood are not allowed in hotels, restaurants and open eateries, tandoors included. Those establishments are told to use only electricity or clean-fuel gas appliances.
Coal has also been banned across the NCR for domestic, industrial and other uses since 1 January 2023. A hybrid oven that can run purely on gas keeps you on the safe side.
A Young Gas Network Means Plan Two Fuels
PNG: where a pipe reaches you
Rohtak district is authorised to Bharat Petroleum for city gas distribution. A December 2023 Lok Sabha reply showed only a few thousand domestic connections in the whole district, so many roads may not be connected yet.
Commercial PNG covers restaurants, hotels and canteens where a pipeline passes, and rented premises can apply.
LPG: the dependable backup
For banquet lawns and bypass-road sites, plan a safe cylinder bank and a fixed gas line. It keeps a wedding counter running whichever way the pipeline question ends.
Tell us the gas type at quote stage. Our hybrid and gas ovens take LPG or natural gas burners. Compare cost with the Wood vs Gas Calculator.
Sizing a Pizza Counter for a 200-Guest Function
Listings for Rohtak banquet halls show capacities from about 35 up to 350 guests, so the same oven cannot suit every venue.
Example: a 200-guest wedding where 120 pizzas are served over 90 minutes needs about 80 pizzas an hour.
Check: bakes per hour = 3,600 divided by bake seconds. A 90-second bake gives 40 bakes an hour, so a two-pizza deck makes 80 in theory. After allowing for heat recovery, plan on roughly 60 an hour from one deck.
Plan: two decks, or a second portable oven beside the first. For lawns, a portable stainless oven or a brick oven on wheels moves between functions. A hotel kitchen should use a fixed brick oven. This is a planning example, not a model specification.
Cafes Around MDU, PGIMS and IIM Rohtak
Students at IIM Rohtak describe going to the city's markets, restaurants and cafes, and the campus has its own in-house cafe. That steady crowd is why compact, fast ovens do well in this belt.
| Area | What you find there | Oven that usually fits |
|---|---|---|
| Model Town and Sukhpura Chowk | Cafes, rooftop restaurants and pizza outlets, close to PGIMS, IIM Rohtak and MDU | Countertop gas oven, or a compact brick oven on wheels for a bigger cafe |
| Delhi Road | The main route to Delhi, with restaurants, banquets and the MDU edge | Brick oven on wheels or a fixed oven for a banquet kitchen |
| Sheela Bypass Road | Hotels and banquet halls away from the old city | Fixed brick oven with a proper flue, plus an LPG bank |
| Sector 1 | Resort-style banquet halls with outdoor lawns near the Delhi-Rohtak corridor | Portable oven or on-site brick oven for lawn counters |

Before You Buy a Pizza Oven in Rohtak
Which wood fired pizza oven manufacturer serves Rohtak?
Forno Sethi builds wood fired, brick and hybrid pizza ovens in its own Burari workshop in Delhi and supplies Rohtak's hotels, banquet halls, cafes and restaurants, from Model Town and Delhi Road to Sheela Bypass Road and Sector 1. The company has manufactured since 2017, has 250+ installations in India and sends its team for installation support.
Can a Rohtak banquet or hotel use a wood fired oven during GRAP months?
Under GRAP, coal and firewood are not allowed in hotels, restaurants and open eateries, tandoors included, and those establishments are told to use only electricity or clean-fuel gas appliances. Rohtak is an NCR district, and its administration has set up a control room to take GRAP complaints. Wedding demand peaks in the same winter months, so a banquet oven should be able to run on gas. Treat wood as an option for days when it is clearly permitted.
Is piped gas available in Rohtak for restaurants and banquets?
Rohtak district is authorised to Bharat Petroleum for city gas distribution, and a December 2023 Lok Sabha reply showed only a few thousand domestic connections in the district, so the network is still young. Commercial PNG reaches restaurants, hotels and canteens only where a pipeline passes. Ask BPCL about your exact road and plan an LPG bank as backup.
What oven suits a live pizza counter at a Rohtak wedding banquet?
A portable stainless steel oven or a brick oven on wheels suits lawns and halls where the counter moves between functions. A hotel with a permanent banquet kitchen is better served by a fixed brick oven with a proper flue. Share the guest count and serving window and we will size the number of decks.
Which oven suits a cafe near MDU, PGIMS or IIM Rohtak?
Student and hospital-visitor cafes need quick heat-up and repeatable bakes through the day, so a countertop gas oven or a compact brick oven on wheels is the usual fit. A larger cafe with a seated crowd can step up to a fixed brick oven. Tell us your seats and busiest hour and we will recommend one.
Do Rohtak banquet halls and restaurants need pollution board consent before adding an oven?
Haryana's pollution board has issued notices to banquet halls and restaurants elsewhere in the NCR, with one report counting 180 notices in Faridabad. Consent rules depend on the type and size of the premises, so check with the Haryana State Pollution Control Board before adding equipment. We can share the oven's fuel and chimney specifications for your file.
How does an oven reach a Rohtak banquet lawn or hotel?
A workshop-built oven is typically ready in 7 to 10 days and is delivered with about a day of setup. For lawns, rooftops or kitchens a finished oven cannot enter, our team can build a brick oven on site in 3 to 5 days. Send photos of the access route and kitchen so we can plan it.
Lock In Your Oven Before the November Rush
Tell us your venue, guest count and whether a gas line reaches you. We will size the decks and say plainly whether wood makes sense at your site.
